The project titled "Synthesis of nanosized powders of BST and fabrication of prototype ML actuator" was sponsored by DST, Govt. of India, with a total outlay of Rs. 7.00 lakhs. The project commenced on 11.03.2003 and completed successfully on 31.12.2004.

This project was aimed at establishing in-house capability for tailoring material characteristics and understanding basics of piezoelectric materials and also develop a chemical methodology for the synthesis of Sn⁴⁺-substituted BaTiO₃ required for actuator applications.
