Gantt Chart

The Development process is often mapped out into a Gantt chart which is a graphical representation for managing a project.

  • During the Analysis stage the "deliverables" would be identified. For the deliverables, you can include: detail the design (reflects business – sustainable, cultural (Maori aspects), responsive, etc.), what pages you will complete, what media – text, images, audio video (original/copied), site features (responsive), how it will be delivered (in stages, online/live/URL/ web host)?

  • Also in the design phase you would produce a list of deliverables and a timeline (so your client gets an understanding of when they can expect their site to be delivered) and usually an estimate of cost (or if you have developed a lot of sites a quote).

  • For the Design phase you develop wireframes that will show the layout and position of the elements such as headers, footers, media elements (text, images, audio, video and interactive (like a form), and produce prototypes (or mockups) that give the client a clear understanding of what you are going to provide.

  • The Development (in stages, build framework (pages, menus), Create page framework, and collect content (images, audio, videos), test, get client to view

  • Implementation would cover how you will deliver your site to the client, e.g., upload, host or go live.

  • At the conclusion of the project you would also provide documentation as to how the site will be maintained and updated, and this would include identifying that the website host and URL are an ongoing cost.
