MENSAJE DEL ADMINISTRADOR PARROQUIAL

Soy el hijo menor de una familia de ocho hermanos, mi Padres Hernán y mi madre Rosalba (QEPD). En esta grande familia aprendí la importancia del amor entre cada uno de los miembros, el respeto, la ayuda, el compartir y el amor a cada cual con sus propias realidades, virtudes y defectos. Siempre quise desde niño tener una familia muy grande, como la que formaron mis padres. Pero a través de mis años de juventud, encontré un nuevo amor que superó mis deseos humanos y me ensanchó el corazón; fue el amor por Jesucristo, su Palabra, su vida, sus enseñanzas y su profundo amor que lo llevó a dar la vida por cada uno de nosotros.

Ese amor no me anuló mis deseos de tener una familia grande, por el contrario ensanchó tanto mi corazón que no pudo ser encerrado en una familia tradicional, sentí el amor de Jesús y su Palabra me encaminó hacia la vocación sacerdotal que se inició a mis dieciocho años en 1989 en el Seminario en Colombia, para sellarse a través de mi consagración sacerdotal el 12 de diciembre de 1996.

Ya hace veinticuatro años, dos meses y dos días que inicié una serie de muchas experiencias de apostolado y pastoral entre Colombia, Puerto Rico, Tanzania, Italia y Estados Unidos de las que tengo seguro que cada una ha sido sumamente importantes y cada persona que he encontrado, han dejado huellas del amor de Dios en mi vida y cumplimiento de la promesa de Jesús a sus discípulos: “Y todo el que haya dejado casas, o hermanos, o hermanas, o padre, o madre, o hijos o tierras por mi nombre, recibirá cien veces más, y heredará la vida eterna.” (Mt 19, 29).

Ustedes, mis queridos feligreses de esta comunidad parroquial de Nuestra Señora de San Juan serán de hoy en adelante por encomienda del S.E.R. Cardenal Daniel DiNardo, mi familia; con quienes espero compartir durante el tiempo que el Señor lo quiera a través del Pastor de esta Arquidiócesis, todo lo mejor que el Señor me ha regalado, a través de mi consagración Sacerdotal y mi experiencia pastoral.

Todos somos importantes para el proyecto de extensión del Reino que Dios nos ha encomendado y cada uno de nosotros, desde nuestros ministerios, capacidades, virtudes y especialmente deseos de hacer la voluntad de Dios a través de su Iglesia y sus Pastores, podremos sentirnos invitados a ser miembros vivos de nuestra comunidad, integrándonos, entregándonos y despojándonos de nuestros propios deseos o intereses para trabajar por los intereses de toda la comunidad, especialmente de los más pobres, necesitados, discriminados y alejados.

Quisiera terminar con las Palabras que el Papa Francisco dijo en su Exhortación Apostólica La Alegría del Evangelio: “La comunidad evangelizadora experimenta que el Señor tomó la iniciativa, la ha primereado en el amor; y, por eso, ella sabe adelantarse, tomar la iniciativa sin miedo, salir al encuentro, buscar a los lejanos y llegar a los cruces de los caminos para invitar a los excluidos” (EG 24). Una Iglesia que renunciara a seguir a su Señor sería una Iglesia enferma: “Prefiero una Iglesia accidentada, herida y manchada por salir a la calle, antes que una Iglesia enferma por el encierro y la comodidad de aferrarse a las propias seguridades” (EG 49).” Ésta será de ahora en adelante, con la fuerza del Espíritu de Dios la motivación y objetivo de mi servicio pastoral entre ustedes, mi nueva familia de Nuestra Señora de San Juan. Dios les bendiga.

I am the youngest child of a family of eight sibling, my father Hernán and my mother Rosalba (may she rest in peace).  In this great family I learned the importance of love among each member, respect, help, sharing and love for each with their own realities, virtues, and flaws. I have always wanted to have an exceptionally large family since I was a kid, like the one my parents formed. But through my youth, I found a new love that surpassed my human desires and widened my heart; it was the love for Jesus Christ, his Word, his life, his teachings, and his deep love that led him to give his life for each of us.

This love did not deny me my desire to have a large family, on the contrary it widened my heart so much that it could not be locked in a traditional family, I let the love of Jesus and his Word direct me towards the priestly vocation that began when I was eighteen years old in 1989. In the seminary of Colombia, where I was sealed through my priestly consecration on

December 12, 1996.

Twenty-four years ago, two months and two days ago I started a series of many experiences of apostolate and pastoral care between Colombia, Puerto Rico, Tanzania, Italy, and the United States of which I am sure that each has been extremely important and every person I have found has left traces of God's love in my life and fulfillment of Jesus' promise to his disciples: "And whoever has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children or lands by my name, shall receive a hundred times more, and inherit eternal life. " (Mt 19:29).

You, my dear parishioners of this parish community of Our Lady of St. John, will be from now on entrusting Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, my family; with whom I hope to share for as long as the Lord wills through the Pastor of this Archdiocese, all the best that the Lord has given me, through my Priestly consecration and pastoral experience.

We are all important to the project of extension of the Kingdom that God has entrusted to us and each of us, from our ministries, capacities, virtues and especially desires to do God's will through his Church and his Pastors, we can feel invited to be living members of our community, integrating, giving ourselves and stripping ourselves of our own desires or interests to work for the interests of the whole community , especially the poorest, needy, discriminated against and estranged.

I would like to end the Words that Pope Francis said in his Apostolic Exhortation The Joy of the Gospel: "The evangelizing community experiences that the Lord took the initiative, has first ed it in love; and, therefore, she knows how to get ahead, take the initiative without fear, go out to meet, search for the distant and reach the crossroads to invite the excluded" (EG 24). A Church that renounced following its Lord would be a sick Church: "I prefer a Church that is bumpy, wounded, and stained by going out into the street, rather than a Church sickened by the lockdown and comfort of clinging to one's own safety" (EG 49). "This will be from now on, with the strength of the Spirit of God, the motivation and purpose of my pastoral service among you, my new family of Our Lady of St. John. God bless you.
