THREE APPS I LIKE TO USE
&
SOME IDEAS FOR INCORPORATING THESE APPS INTO THE CLASSROOM
This app is used to create and share projects in different formats such as canvas, timelines, grids, streams, walls and maps.
Activity
If a certain group of students is having a test on tenses in the near future, the teacher can ask them to create a verb tense timeline using Padlet. This way, students can summarize the information they need to study for the test (structures, examples, etc.).
They can work in groups and, after they have finished the task, they can share their productions with the rest of the class and make the necessary corrections.
With this app, you can create and edit videos and pictures.
Activity
The following activity can be driven with the purpose of evaluating students' knowledge on the topics they have been dealing with up to a specific moment of the year.
The teacher of a particular subject, such as History or Geography, for example, can provide students with a list of topics so, by working in groups, they can choose one and, then, create a video about it.
After students have finished the task, they can share their productions with the rest of the class.
NB: Students cannot appear in the video, but they can record themselves speaking and edit that recording.
This is a digital and interactive version of a traditional whiteboard that can be used to visualize and share ideas.
Students can be asked to use this digital whiteboard to brainstorm ideas before getting into an activity in which they will be requested to make a presentation, such as the ones that have been shared above.
