EVALUATION OF THE WEBSITES
While The Guardian is an established newspaper that offers trustworthy articles on different matters, the BBC is a renowned entity as the national broadcaster of the United Kingdom. The information published on both sites is written by certified journalists who present articles containing reliable and factual data. Furthermore, the sites work well, and the information is properly organized.
In both cases, the content might not be presented in an interesting and stimulating way to students since teaching is not their primary goal. Nevertheless, both sites offer the possibility for students to encounter different writing patterns as well as with a wide range of vocabulary and various points of view.
One key difference between the BBC website and The Guardian is that the BBC offers an entire segment dedicated to food. This segment includes sections on recipes, food-related programmes, diets and cooking techniques, among others. Moreover, all these sections are regularly updated, with new content added on a weekly basis.
