It should come as no surprise that Vermont, along with Massachusetts and Hawaii, are the most left-leaning states in the nation. None other than the respected Gallup Daily tracking survey found that 30 percent of the residents of those states self-identified themselves as “liberal” as reported in February 6, 2015 in an article written by Frank Newport.
Also not surprising is that Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana were the most right-leaning states, with between 46% and 49% of residents identifying as politically conservative.
