As members of the Vanguard community, players are expected to follow the rules below and report any offenses against them to appropriate staff.
0) Follow Discord TOS
All members must adhere to Discord's Terms of Service. Although Discord allows users aged 13+, this is a 16+ server due to the inclusion of partial NSFW content, such as depictions of gore and heavy topics (e.g., suicide, abuse, drugs). If we discover you are under 16, you will be removed from the server.
1) Respect Staff and Members
Treat everyone with respect. Be mindful of other members’ boundaries. If someone asks you to stop discussing a topic, do so. Staff instructions must also be followed, especially regarding rule enforcement or switching topics.
2) Use the Vent Channel for Triggering Topics
While we care about your wellbeing, avoid discussing sensitive or potentially triggering topics in general chats. Please use The Vent Channel for such matters. General chats should stay relevant to the ongoing conversation. Additionally, do not act as a therapist for other members—your mental health matters too.
3) Stay on Topic
Each channel has a name and description to guide its purpose. Keep discussions relevant to the channel topic. If staff ask you to move a conversation to another channel, please comply to avoid clutter or disruptions.
4) No Unauthorized Advertising
Advertising commissions, other servers, or services is prohibited unless explicitly approved by staff. If you wish to promote something or form a partnership, contact a staff member first.
5) No Spamming
Do not spam messages, pings, or DMs in the server. Spamming will result in a warning.
6) Unwelcome Topics
Racism, homophobia, or religious discrimination outside of roleplay will not be tolerated. Additionally, the use of slurs in OOC (Out-of-Character) discussions is strictly prohibited.
7) Report Suspicious Activity
If you see something concerning, report it. Use the tickets tool to alert staff and include screenshots or recordings if possible. While staff can’t monitor everything, we are committed to resolving issues quickly and effectively.
8) Practice Patience and Respect
Remember that everyone here is human. If there’s a delay in responses (whether in tickets, roleplays, or elsewhere), think before you comment. People may be busy or have valid reasons for the delay. Treat others with the same respect and understanding you'd want in return.
9) Restriction on AI-Sourced Content
This server does not allow the use of AI-generated material, including images, videos, and writing. This policy is in place to combat art theft and support the work of artists in our community. If your character uses an AI-generated face claim, replace it immediately to avoid repercussions. Violating this rule will result in an instant warning. Three warnings will lead to a ban.
*THESE APPLY TO ANY AND ALL OCS*
1) No Godmodding
While brainstorming creative ideas for your OC is encouraged, avoid making them overpowered or unfairly advantageous. Don’t waste staff time with ideas you know break the balance of the RP. If something feels unfair or unrealistic, don’t do it or write it.
2) Faceclaims
Using the same faceclaim as another player or a mainstream/popular faceclaim is prohibited. If the face is widely recognizable, it’s best to avoid it. If you’re unsure whether a faceclaim is acceptable, ask staff for clarification.
3) No Copying Mainstream Characters
This server is not for you to roleplay as a direct copy of characters like Gojo (or any mainstream anime, movie, or game character). Inspiration is fine, but blatant copying is not. Add creativity and originality to your OC to make them unique!
4) Avoid “Slick” Power Plays
Using one of your OCs to make another OC stronger is not allowed. Growth must occur organically through proper development in the RP. Staff will notice if something feels off or unfair.
5) OC Limit.
You can have up to 8 OCs in the server. However, focusing on a single OC is perfectly fine if that’s your preference.
6) Rule Updates
Rules may evolve over time. If you’re unsure about whether something is allowed, don’t assume—make a ticket or ask staff publicly for guidance.
7) RP Posts & Turn-Based System
This server follows a turn-based RP system, meaning the timeline of events depends on the posts within the scenario. You may participate in multiple RPs simultaneously, but the recommended limit is three to ensure focus and fluidity. Finish RPs efficiently before starting new ones.
8) Combat Roleplay (CRP)
CRP is allowed but should remain respectful and fair. Don’t kill another OC without reason or prior agreement. Ensure fights have proper context, and respect the other player’s characters and development. Discuss outcomes if necessary.
9) FIREARMS
Firearms are judged on a case-by-case basis during character submission. For the purpose of balance, firearms owned by OCs are limited to a maximum of three shots per turn, no matter their rate of fire. If misuse is witnessed during roleplay, staff may remove the firearm in question.
Note that Vitalists are out of the ordinary and may be capable of reacting to, blocking, or dodging bullets depending on their skills, abilities, and equipment.
10) Reason to Kill (RTK)
RTK applies to fair combat situations. Don’t engage in an unfair fight, only to complain when your OC is killed. Teen Vitalist can defeat a normal adult, but they are likely to lose against an Adult Vitalist.
11) Avoid OOC Drama in RP
If you’re having personal issues with another player, do not let it spill into RP. Avoid creating drama with their OC or altering your OC’s behavior for unjustified reasons. This includes non-canon interactions. Address personal conflicts in DMs, not in the RP.
12) No Metagaming
Your OC can’t know everything. Just because you, as the player, know something out of character (OOC), doesn’t mean your OC magically knows it too. Be realistic and keep OOC knowledge separate from IC (in-character) actions.
13) Use Common Sense
Not every possible rule can be explicitly written. Use your judgment and think carefully before acting. When in doubt, consult staff.
