TRAINING AND EXCHANGE EVENT - RO
The third exchange of groups of students entitled "Painting Europe" and, at the same time, the third training activity with the teachers entitled "Tolerance and Values in the Era of Modern Technologies" took place, simultaneously, in Bucharest, Romania, during the 28th- 30th March, 2022 and were hosted by CANTEMIR-VODĂ NATIONAL COLLEGE. The activities were divided into those attended by teachers and those attended by students. There were also joint activities.
The main objectives of the learning activity were:
Encouraging teachers to promote European values and diversity in class, in the most attractive and efficient way possible. Thus, activities provided by the team from Cantemir Voda College for the participating teachers focused on promoting the psychological, social and cultural development of students, highlighted some pedagogical methods of training future teachers and professors that include modern technology, offering an overview of the Romanian educational system as well as the predominant profile of mathematics -informatics characteristic of the host school. Analysing, comparing the Romanian education system with that of the partner schools, the teaching methods used in the Cantemir Voda National College with those used in the partner schools; at the same time, the concept of tolerance in the age of technology was discussed, together with other values that must be constantly taken into account in class and in the extracurricular activities. Demonstrations of interdisciplinary lessons that are the basis of a high-quality education. Participating teachers attended classes (mathematics, biology, informatics), a demonstration with robots held by the robotics team of the high school. There were deep discussions between the host teachers and the guest teachers about the aspects mentioned above.
The aim of the programme activities was 1. Reinforcing examples of good practice regarding how certain European values, such as tolerance, equal opportunities, diversity, can be integrated in lessons; 2. Professional development (diversification of teaching methods, consolidation of professional relationships) and personal (development of linguistic, social, cultural skills) of the participating teaching staff. Teachers, together with students, were also involved in the discovery of local traditions and customs in order to enrich the general culture, broaden the cultural horizon, develop the degree of tolerance, artistic sense, communication skills.
All the participants took a tour of the most important tourist attractions of the city (the National Museum of History, the Athenaeum, the Military Circle, the Old Centre of the city, the Stavreopoleos monastery), visited the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest building in the world, the Mogosoaia Palace whose architecture consists of the Brâncovenesc style specific to Romanian culture, they watched a show with music, dance and a play in English, staged by the students of Cantemir Voda National College. On the last day, all the participants could view the materials created by the students from the project, on day 1 and 2.
The mobility ended with a ceremony of awarding certificates and prizes for students and teachers, conclusions related to the results obtained from the mobility.
