Colegiul National CANTEMIR-VODA
Officially founded on October 27th 1868, Cantemir Voda National College is one of the most representative secondary schools in Romania. It has 26 classes, being specialised on maths-informatics and natural sciences, from which 811 pupils benefit. We also host gymnasium classes, one for each level. There are 51 teachers here, five of them having PhDs and two of them working as specialists in the School Inspectorate. Besides the teachers’ own publications, our school owns a digital Math manual for the fifth grade whose author is Mr. Mihai Alexandru. The college offers its best advanced technology like 10 video projectors, 2 digital desktops, 3 SMART desktops and 130 computers or laptops. It has various labs, a basketball court, recreation areas for students and a cafeteria. An ECDL centre was opened in Cantemir Voda, where those interested benefit from IT classes and are assessed to obtain the ECDL certificate. Our institution encourages pupils to participate in extracurricular activities, such as Cantemir Debate Club, the school choir and magazine, different competitions, namely, National Art Festival for secondary schools, LicArt, Children’s Reading Festivals, NARATIV, Fotoclub or CIVITAS projects: Arbitration, Authentic Teen, Infofest, Cultural Intersection or Five High-schools, Five Museums. The school has been involved in international projects since 2006(Comenius, Erasmus) where our students take part regardless of their age or nationality (Turkey, Syria, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, China, Israel, Ethiopia).
