NCDHHS Expanding Mental Health Supports for Teachers, School Personnel and Their Families
Hope4Healers is available 24 hours per day, seven days a week. When teachers, school personnel or family members call the helpline, they will speak to someone who is trained to listen and offer support. They then will be contacted within about a day by a licensed mental health professional for a free, confidential, short-term follow-up by phone or video chat.
The Hope4Healers initiative builds on the longstanding Hope4NC Helpline (1-855-587-3463) that provides mental health and resilience supports for all North Carolinians.
We have partnered with McLaughlin Young Group, an independent provider of EAP services. There is no enrollment required.
The EAP offers help for personal and/or professional concerns by providing free, confidential, short-term counseling and personal consultation. The EAP has a network of counselors that are conveniently located. They can help you improve or resolve personal difficulties whether big or small, personal or work-related.
Confidentiality is one of the most important features of the EAP. No one will know that you have used this resource unless you offer that information or unless someone’s safety is threatened.
EAP services include: Up to 6 sessions per family member, per year. This benefit covers any UCPS employee working 30 hours or more. There is no cost to you for your phone calls or face-to-face visits with the EAP. Union County Public Schools covers all expenses for this program.
To seek assistance through the EAP, simply call 704-529-1428 or 800-633-3353.
Appointments are available during both daytime and evening hours.
