This week in 1st grade, we spent time getting to know each other. We talked about the role of a school counselor and used Mrs. Potato Head as a visual, to discuss the parts of a good school counselor. (eyes are for watching the students and making sure they're having a good day, ears are for listening, arms are for hugging, giving high fives, helping, etc.) We also watched a "Hands to Self" video and discussed what to expect this year, why we have rules, and how to make good choices every day.
