OBJECTIVES OF THE PARTNER COMMUNITY/IES
The development efforts in UM partner communities is geared towards the improvement of the quality of life on the community people.
For the general goal to be realized, the following specific objectives are spelled out:
Social
1. To improve and intensify networking and sourcing efforts.
2. To generate educated and skilled community workers.
3. To democratize access to quality non-formal education so that people would have opportunities to develop themselves.
4. To provide family-oriented and community-based services such as health, nutrition and responsible parenthood.
5. To enhance basic social, moral and cultural values.
Economic
1. To increase the level of income of the residents.
2. To generate livelihood opportunities.
3. To raise the skills and productivity levels for sustainable livelihood among the different sectors of the community. E.g. women, out-of-school youth, men.
Political
1. To organize a people’s organization that would take an active role in community development.
2. To provide training to the local people that would develop and enhance their skills in leadership, decision-making conflict management and others.
