Do you like stumping your friends while learning something new? Do you like intense competitions? Do you like not having to spell things correctly? If so, check out Trivia!
Trivia's main two components are its officials and its Trivia Tracker Cycle.
Officials are a series of rapid-fire trivia questions about various subjects, testing your inherent knowledge (or your internet speed).
When Officials are not active, the Trivia Tracker is active instead. Ask questions to your fellow trivia users, answer other's questions and claim the BP to climb higher on the leaderboard!
The Trivia Tracker Leaderboard is held three times during UGO, so if you fall behind in one week, try again in the next!
Players can earn points from Trivia by competing in officials, playing Trivia Tracker, or playing one of their many minigames.
Every other official, every in-game point you will earn will get you 1 point. The winner will get an additional 20 points, the runner-up will get 20 points, and third place will get 5 points. If you get at least 5 points, you get an additional 3 points!
Some of these officials have preset questions that crossover with the other game rooms! When this happens, half of these points are allocated to the room in question.
During Trivia you earn 2 points for every TTL (Trivia Tracker Leaderboard) point earned through asking and answering a question.
Claiming a question only awards 1 point for every TTL point earned.
Being in the Top 10 on the TTL at the end of a cycle will earn you 100 points for 1st place, 90 points for 2nd place, 80 points for 3rd place, and so on, with 10th place getting 10 points.
EDIT @ 18-08: Per request of Trivia, every other official counts towards UGO points, while the other half does not. The points each official hands out will also be doubled to compensate.
Trivia will have 1 Welcome to Trivia event at the start of UGO to introduce users to the room and the upcoming UGO events Trivia will offer. This event will be on August 17th at 01:00 GMT.
There are 11 types of minigames Trivia will be hosting during UGO.
In Blitz, ask and answer questions as fast as you can! If you’re one of the first to reach a point cap, you enter the second round to decide the winner.
In Tour Duels, players play in a best of one single elimination 1v1 Challenge Cup tournament. In every match, the host asks a trivia question. The first to answer correctly gets to give their opponent a disadvantage!
In Duel, players go head to head to outsmart their opponents. Every round, a randomly selected player chooses an opponent. The host asks a question and whoever answers first eliminates the other player.
In Prime Minister, players answer trivia questions in the host's PMs every round. Only players who answer correctly continue to the next round, and the slowest person is eliminated.
In every round of Cataloguer, the host asks a question which has multiple answers. Players must then give as many answers as possible in the PMs of the host!
In Spot the Ditto, players are given three facts, one of which is false. Players PM the host the incorrect fact to move on to the next round.
Hangman Trivia works just like hangman: The player who correctly guesses the answer with the given hint (in the form of a Trivia question) gains a point!
Trivia Tracker Single Asker (TTSA): Unlike normal Trivia Tracker, only the host asks questions. This is used as a base for a number of other minigames such as Image Trivia.
In Suspect Search, players attempt to identify the chosen “suspects” using hints, which are in the form of answers to questions asked by the host. At certain times, players can guess who the suspect is. However, if the player incorrectly guesses a suspect, they lose points!
During a Happy Hour if your asked questions follow the Happy Hour restriction, you can earn extra UGO points!
Sad Hour is just like Happy Hour, but almost the opposite! Guess the hidden rule set by the host and ask questions following that rule to earn even more bonus points!
Expect at least a minigame everyday, but on Spotlight days this can be as much as 5 events!
Note that minigames are not considered events for the sake of spotlight days.
Blitz: Getting to the finals grants 15 points. Winning gives you 60 points.
Tour duel: Getting first gives you 40 points, getting second grants you 20 points. If there are more than 8 players, those placed third and fourth get 10 points.
Duel: Killing another player awards players 5 points. Winning a Duel game awards 25 points.
For Prime Minister, Cataloguer, Spot the Ditto, Hangman Trivia and Single Asker Trivia Tracker: These minigames are either 10 or 25 rounds.
Surviving a round or getting a question correct gives you 3 points.
Surviving the longest or until the round limit (PM, Cataloguer, Dittos) or having the most points at the end of the game (Hangman, Single Asker) awards 25 points.
Suspect search: Within a game, players get 2 points for answering a question correctly and 15 points for finding the suspect. Guessing wrong on the suspect subtracts 4 points. Winning a Suspect Search game awards 25 points.
Note: You cannot lose existing UGO points through this minigame; if you have a negative total, you will earn 0 points.
Happy Hour: Asking a themed question during Happy Hour awards 3 bonus points. Asking the most themed questions during Happy Hour will award you 25 points.
Sad Hour: Answering a question that follows the theme during Sad Hour awards 3 points. Guessing the theme correctly rewards 20 points! Asking the most themed questions during Sad Hour awards 25 points.
Aside from minigames, there are 2 other events for which points can be obtained.
In the Survivor crossover Jeopard-Keys, the popular TV game Jeopardy meets Survivor's key collecting! Held August 23rd at 04:00 GMT.
Points: Winning Jeopard-Keys awards 150 points and getting second place grants 100 points. All other participants get 30 points. Half these points are for Survivor
The Titanomachy event is a variation of the Duel Minigame, but with just 2 teams: auth (voices and up) vs regulars. Whichever team is the last one standing wins! Held September 6th at 03:00 GMT.
Killing an auth in Titanomachy awards 30 points. Participating awards 15 points. If the regulars win, they all get an additional 25 points.
