GAME CORNER

Do you like playing chat-based games? Do you like typing fast? Do you like hosting games for your friends to play? If so, Game Corner’s the room for you!

As usual, Game Corner will be constantly running games. Players can earn points by participating in, winning, or hosting games.

• Win or host an easy game to win 5 points. If there are one or more clear runners-up, they win 3 points.

• Win or host a medium game to win 7 points. If there are one or more clear runners-up, they win 5 points.

• Win or host a hard game to win 9 points. If there are one or more clear runners-up, they win 6 points.

• If your host lasts 10+ minutes, you get another 5/7/9 points, depending on difficulty bonus.

  1. subject to staff discretion, abuse of this time rule may result in losing the bonus.

• Participate in an easy game and get at least one in-game point to get 2 points. If a game does not have in-game points, participating grants you 1 point instead.

• Participate in a medium game and get at least one in-game point to get 3 points. If a game does not have in-game points, participating grants you 2 points instead.

• Participate in a medium or hard game and get at least one in-game point to get 4 points. If a game does not have in-game points, participating grants you 2 points instead.

Note that each GC game has its own specific playing and hosting difficulty. A game can be rated easy to play but hard to host, so be careful. Be sure to check out the GC Game Catalogue or ask one of our friendly auth before hosting.

Game Corner will have 1 Welcome to Game Corner event at the start of UGO to introduce users to the room and the upcoming UGO events Game Corner will offer. These events will be on August 17th at 00:00 GMT.

Events

Game Corner will be hosting 8 types of events: Beat the Champion, WOMF, Eternatus Trick House Battles, Hunger Games, Chesnaught's Battle Dome, the Game Corner Odyssey, Forum Frenzy and the Mega Gameathlon.

• A raid boss has appeared in Trick House. Gather a team of 3 players, build a team of 3 Pokémon, and beat the boss within the 45 minutes it is active. Can you defeat Eternatus Trick House Battles? These are hosted all throughout UGO in Trick House, so keep an eye on the /events list!

• The Hunger Games are a crossover event with Survivor. A game filled with choices, luck, betrayal, and a bit of quick reactions. The longer you survive, the more UGO points you get! Held August 17th at 15:00 GMT.

• Chesnaught's Battle Dome is a collaborative event between Battle Dome and Game Corner! Chesnaught’s Arena has closed the dome and invites you to join. Can you handle the excitement? Select your characters, items and abilities, take out your opponents and come out a different user! Make sure to sign up via the signup form before August 18th, 8:00 GMT. The event will start later that day and may last all of UGO!

  • Note: This event is run on Discord, so be sure to join prior to the start of Chesnaught's Battle Dome!

• The Game Corner Odyssey is just like a normal Scavengers odyssey, but it's all about Game Corner! held August 24th at 17:30 GMT.

• Go up against WarriorGallade in a short 1v1 GC game of your choice. You'll earn a higher multiplier for defeating him in games that he's strong. But you can also lose points if you lose the game, so pick carefully! Can you Beat the Champion? Held August 29th at 05:00 and 15:00 GMT.

• The kiloyearly Jirachi Championships have begun! Outwit your adversaries in a variety of GC minigames to stake your claim as the rightful ruler of the battlefield? Find out in the Mega Gameathlon! Held August 31st at 01:00 GMT.

• Forum Frenzy shows off that Game Corner is not just the pre-programmed games! Play across various categories of consecutively hosted forum games in this two segment event! Held September 3rd at 15:00 GMT.

• WOMF (Wheel of Misfortune) is a luck-based game where players risk their own bits or UGO Points to attempt to profit. It’s up to Showdown’s RNG system to decide the winners! Held September 6th at 15:00 GMT and at 23:00 GMT.

Event Points

Players can earn the following UGO points from GC Events:

• In Hunger Games, All participants get 150 UGO points, but they lose 25 points for every round the winner lasts longer than they do (You cannot lose points from this event). Half of these points are awarded to Survivor.

• Players that defeat an Eternatus Trick House Battle get 30 points each. If you manage to also complete the challenge while defeating the boss, you can even get a multiplier on those points. Half of these points are for Trick House.

• In Chesnaught's Battle Dome, you get log(n, 1.6) points for every player you outlasted, with "n" being the # of players outlasted. Yeah, remember when your math teacher said that you're gonna use math in real life? Welcome to the real world.
  Winning Chesnaught's Battle Dome grants 350 points. Getting second place awards you 200 UGO points, and getting third awards 100 UGO points.
  Half of the Chesnaught's Battle Dome points are awarded to Battle Dome.

  1. • So long as you are not DQ'd, you will always get a minimum of 20 participation points.

• Finishing the Game Corner Odyssey grants winners 200, 175, 150, 125, 100 and 80 for placing first through sixth respectively. All other players who complete the hunt afterwards will earn 50 points. Half of these points are for Scavengers.

• In Beat the Champion, you wager up to 30 UGO points. You can win up to 90 points, but you can also lose those 30!

• The winner of Mega Gameathlon gets 200 UGO points. Points will be awarded to all other players scaled to the amount of points the winner has. (e.g. someone with 10% of the points of the winner gets 20 UGO points, someone with 50% gets 100 points, etc.)

• Winning one of the games in Forum Frenzy gives you 25 points. If you're the clear runner up, you get 20 points. Every participant will get 10 points if they got a point, or 5 points if there is no clear indication of points.

• Players can earn a maximum of 250 UGO points for WOMF, but they might lose points too!
