Mafia will have 2 Welcome to Mafia events at the start of UGO to introduce users to the room and the upcoming UGO events Mafia will offer. These events will be on August 16th at 17:00 GMT and at 23:00 GMT.
Mafia is hosting the largest UGO event: Everyone is Mafia Mafia. Alongside it, there is also SpeedVivor, the Mafia Odyssey and various minigames.
EiMM (Everyone is Mafia Mafia) is a social game based around Mafia. The premise of the game runs a scenario of Mafia where no Townies, day phases, or votes exist, leaving the game resolved through a series of night phases. This is a game of figuring out which players you can trust, which you can’t, and who you need to eliminate to ensure your own victory. For a better understanding of game mechanics, check out this sample ruleset for more information. You can sign up for EiMM here . Make sure to sign up before August 23rd! EiMM will start the day after, on August 24th.
Note: This event is run on Discord. A link will be sent to you before the event starts, be sure to join prior to the start of EiMM!
In SpeedVivor, players will participate as a member of a tribe to complete challenges, where the losing tribes will vote one member of their tribe off. This continues until only 2 or 3 players are left, where a jury of players recently voted out will decide a winner. Held August 22nd at 19:00 GMT.
The Mafia Odyssey is just like a normal Scavengers odyssey, but it's all about the Mafia room! Held September 4th at 17:00 GMT.
There are a total of 5 different minigames. Each event has its own specific rules for obtaining roles or playing the game:
In Trials, following a 10 minute discussion day, everyone gets a 5 minute mini trial to vote whether they live or die in an order decided by the Mafia. If the game isn't over after everyone receives an initial trial, everyone gets a final mini trial. Held August 20th at 16:00 GMT.
In U-Pick, each player sends in a potential role name (e.g. Empoleon Bonaparte), and the game moderator will create a role based around the role name. A normal game of Mafia will be held using that composition. Held August 24th at 21:00 GMT.
In Greater Idea, each player is given two roles, where they pick one. The chosen role will then be used in a regular mafia game. The full rules and role list can be found here. Held August 29th at 03:00 GMT.
We will be running a custom closed setup made by Alexander489! Players will not know what the setup is until the day of the event, and cannot see the setup during the game, so look forward to a fun-filled game! Held September 1st at 19:00 GMT.
In NS (No Setup), During the Night, each player can submit an action from the No Setup action list here. Held September 5th at 19:00 GMT.
Players can obtain UGO Points from Mafia by doing any of the following:
In EiMM, you get log(n, 1.2) points for every player you outlasted, with "n" being the # of players outlasted. Yeah, remember when your math teacher said that you're gonna use math in real life? Welcome to the real world.
Winning EiMM grants 500 points.
In SpeedVivor, you get log(n, 1.6) points for every player you outlasted, with "n" being the nth person you outlasted. You'll never escape from the real world math!
The winner of SpeedVivor gets 250 points, second place gets 150 points and third gets 50 points.
Finishing the Mafia Odyssey grants winners 200, 175, 150, 125, 100 and 80 for placing first through sixth respectively. All other players who complete the hunt afterwards will earn 50 points. Half of these points are for the Scavengers room.
Each winner of a minigame receives 120 points, and the group-appointed MVP receives an additional 120 points. All other partcipants receive 60 points.
