SCAVENGERS

Do you like scavenger hunts and puzzles? Do you like making and playing challenging hunts? Do you like actually being able to google your answers? If so, you’ll feel at home in Scavengers!

The Scavengers room will be hosting Scavenger Hunts all day where players get to show off their searching and puzzling skills. Be sure to check out one of the workshops in the first weekend, or take a look at their guides on how to play and how to make hunts. 

The main way to play is by creating and solving hunts to earn points.

• Completing a regular scavenger hunt grants 65, 55, 45, 35, 27, and 20 points for placing first through sixth respectively. All other players who complete the hunt afterwards will earn 13 points.

• Creating a regular scavenger hunt (and getting it queued) earns players 60 points.

Sometimes, auth (voice and up) may host official or mini-official hunts. These are worth more UGO points than regular hunts. Specifically,...

• Finishing a mini official scavenger hunt gives the following points: 90, 78, 65, 50, 40, and 32 points for placing first through sixth respectively. All other players who complete the hunt afterwards will earn 25 points.

• Finishing an official scavenger hunt gives the following points: 130, 115, 95, 80, 65, and 52 points for placing first through sixth respectively. All other players who complete the hunt afterwards will earn 40 points.

EDIT @ 22-08: All hunt-related points for Scavengers have seen an increase!

On top of that, every day there will be a singular scavenger hunt question for you to solve! Completing such a daily question will grant players 10 points.

Scavengers will have two Welcome to Scavengers events at the start of UGO to introduce users to the room and the upcoming UGO events Scavengers will offer. These events will be on August 17th at 20:00 GMT and August 18th at 09:00 GMT.

Events

Over the course of UGO, there's 9 Scavengers events: 4 different special style officials (Odyssey, Jump Start, Incognito and Point Rally), The Team Scavengers, a special Game Corner Odyssey, Board Game Odyssey, and Mafia Odyssey, as well as Hunt Swap!

• An Odyssey is a special official where a single scavenger hunt has an unknown, but greater than 10, number of questions. Held August 20th at 14:30 GMT.

• Jump Starts are special events where two hunts are hosted in succession. The first few players who finish the first hunt get access to the second one before anyone else. The second hunt is played as normal. The winners of the second hunt are the winners of the Jump Start. Held August 23th at 19:00 GMT.

• The Game Corner Odyssey is just like a normal odyssey, but it's all about Game Corner! Held August 24th at 17:30 GMT.

• In a Incognito Official, finishers and their finish times are hidden until the hunt ends!  O.O :suspicious:. Held August 25th at 12:00 GMT.

• Point Rallies are a special style official where multiple hunts are hosted in succession. Players can join at any time, and earn in-game points for each hunt they complete. The player with the most points at the end is the winner! Held August 26th at 23:30 GMT.

• The Board Game Odyssey is just like a normal odyssey, but it's all about Board Games! Held August 30th at 17:00 GMT.

• The Mafia Odyssey is just like a normal odyssey, but it's all about the Mafia room! Held September 4th at 17:00 GMT.

• During Hunt Swap, You and your team of up to 3 players have 48 hours to make a Scavenger hunt. Then, your team will solve one made by another team (and the other team solves yours). The faster team wins! Signups close on August 27th at 22:00 GMT, and the event will start about an hour later. After the 48 hours are up, you have until September 5th, 04:00 GMT to schedule and play your opposing team's hunt.

  • Note: This event is run on Discord, so be sure to join prior to the start of Hunt Swap!

• A Team Scavengers is a more difficult official; in exchange, you'll be working with four others to solve the hunt. Held at September 5th at 18:00 GMT.

Event Points

The Scavengers events give out the following points:

• Finishing a Jump Start, KO Games, Point Rally or Incognito grants winners 200, 175, 150, 125, 100 and 80 points for placing first through sixth respectively. All other players who complete the hunt afterwards will earn 50 points.

• Finishing an Odyssey grants winners 200, 175, 150, 125, 100 and 80 for placing first through sixth respectively. All other players who complete the hunt afterwards will earn 50 points. Get up to one of the two check points to get 20 points for each check point.

  • Finishing the Game Corner, Board Games or Mafia odyssey rewards the same points, but half of the points are awarded for Game Corner, Board Games or Mafia, respectively.

• Winning your Hunt Swap awards you 100 points, losing it rewards 50 points. If no hunt was submitted or you did not finish, you gain 0 points.

• Finishing the Team Scavengers will grant all participating members 200, 170, 125, and 75 points for placing first through fourth respectively. All other teams who complete the hunt afterwards will earn 25 points. Furthermore, for every question you solve, you get 1 additional point! (This does not sound like much but trust me it is)
