Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Trojanettes? I thought we had Trojanaires?

A: We have so many talented ladies that it would not be fair to restrict numbers to the number that makes for a balanced ensemble with our guys.

Q: How many ladies will be chosen?

A: Twelve. Three Soprano 1’s, three Soprano 2’s, three Alto 1s’, and three Alto 2’s. We will need one Soprano 2 to sing Soprano 1 for SSA music. We will also need two Alto 1’s to sing Soprano 2 for SSA music. At your audition, be ready to tell Miss Cramer if this applies to you!

Q: Can I be in Trojanettes but not in Choral Ensemble during the school day?

A: The short answer is no. If there is any chance this situation could apply to you, please talk to Miss Cramer.

Q: What kinds of absences are typically excused?

A: Absence from school, death in the family.

Q: Okay, then what absences are typically unexcused?

A: Doctor’s appointments (unless it is an extreme circumstance), oversleeping, lack of a ride, having too much homework, “I forgot,” etc. This is a consistent weekly commitment, rehearsal times rarely change. Remember, membership in Trojanettes is not a right. It is a privilege that you are responsible for maintaining. Missed rehearsals, lateness, and a poor attitude are not fair to the other members and will not be tolerated.

Q: Does the eligibility rule apply to Trojanettes?

A: Yes. If your name appears on the ineligible list, you will not be allowed to participate. Please keep on top of your schoolwork. Students who miss more than 3 rehearsals due to eligibility will be dismissed from the group.
