These are required on each level of the course in use and for leap programs

Gear up
Large gear tarp (Cover all gear with a tarp / canopy to protect from sun (metal buckles & helmets get very hot) & rain)
Blue and white participant helmets in bucket, XL helmets and staff (small orange) in bucket
Royal blue Headwall standard harnesses inspected, loosened, and spread on tarp Smaller harnesses (if youth group) inspected, loosened, and spread on tarp

Leap of Faith
ONLY use dynamic rope for LEAP – only used for LEAPS
Rescue set up
Drop the cable off one exterior pole and attach to staple below w/ short section of rope o Lobster Claws – 1 set
Cable grab & steel carabiner o Daisy chains with extra carabiner
Trauma shears
Each Leap station will have following:
1 dynamic rope strung through belay pole
2 ball locking carabiner
White or blue helmets for climbers, orange helmets for staff
1 tarp to lay rope on o 8-10 removable staples
Appropriate number and sizes of full body harnesses
Super 8 & double fishermen knot tied on climbers end of rope
Figure 8 stopper knot tied on belayer’s end of rope
Take Down
Pull up cargo nets all the way and lock them in place.
Take down and inspect all hardware, ropes and equipment.
Untie knots and inspect rope in rescue bag.
Collect any trash and recycling that has been left on the course.
Return all gear and equipment to its appropriate place in the shed.
Harnesses and helmets should be properly stored; spray helmets with disinfectant
Note any damage to gear on maintenance form in Challenge Course binder.
Collect all dirty laundry – used bandanas (untied), tablecloths (only if dirty) and staff shirts – leave in shed laundry bag – leads will take this back to office.
Empty trash containers after every program and take to the dumpsters by Outback – or ants and rodents will go to town!
Restock portable toilets with toilet paper, hand sanitizer and air fresheners as needed.
Refill trash cans with new bags, sweet and lock in porta potties.
Empty water from Igloos.
All staff should sign their contracts and fill out their staff logs.
Load remaining gear to take back to Outback
If Ziplines were used:
Record number of uses on zip lines in “Zip Log.”
If Leaps of Faith was used for the program:
Inspect, coil and hang ropes. Record the number of rope uses for the Leap of Faith in the “rope log” in Challenge Course binder.
Tie p-cord between 2nd and 3rd fixed staples for Leap poles.
Lead Facilitators must complete Lead Follow Up form and all appropriate paperwork in order to be paid.
Fill out “Lead Follow Up Form” in Chrome Book and debrief as a group. Note any supplies or maintenance needed at the course.
Complete Post Program Inspection Sheet
Leads should place all paperwork for the day in the program folder and return it to Outback.
