Monthly or quarterly check in meeting to make sure SOMA Staff and liaisons are on the same page.
Scheduled webinars covering a variety or topics.
What We Expect from You During the School Year
Complete the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the start of school year and submit to schools@specialolympicsma.org.
Ensure a roster of participating students for all Unified Sport activities is submitted by coach/teacher.
Complete mid-year (December), end of year (June), and UMASS Boston surveys (April, May).
Share pictures and stories with us of what Unified looks like in action at your school.
Support with transition of students into the Special Olympics sport and training opportunities.

The Special Olympics National School Recognition Program provides an opportunity for schools across the United States to be acknowledged for their achievements with inclusion and their partnership with Special Olympics. These schools have achieved 10 national standards of excellence and were selected to be recipients by Special Olympics North America.

2) Evaluate what's needed in your school.
3) Get more students and staff involved in your mission to complete the 10 standards.
4) Apply in Spring 2025!
