Claudia Goldin

Born in New York, US, 1946. Claudia Goldin received her PhD from the University of Chicago in 1972.

In 1990, she became the first woman to hold a cathedra in economics at Harvard University.

Claudia Goldin is an economic historian, whose research focuses on Labor Economics. Her contributions have been fundamental in the areas of inequality on income, technological change, education and immigration.

She has held a variety of notable positions in the economic world, such as the president of the American Economic Association and the head of the "Development of the American Economy" program at NBER.

Claudia Goldin has received many awards and recognizements along her career, with the BBVA Frontiers in Knowledge Award in 2019 among them.
