2019: Banerjee, Duflo & Kremer
The 2019 Prize was awarded jointly yo Abhijit Banerjee, Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer "for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty".
Sometimes, Economics feels like a social science which only deals with "ifs", tinkering with complex ideas and developed economies, but it does not need to be like that.
This year's laureates have made important contributions in using economics for the improvement of less developed economies, investigating the most effective ways to combate poverty and improve the lifes of poor people.
