Hourly and salaried Tech Wizards employees qualify for paid holidays and vacation time based on the following parameters:
Salaried Employees
Paid Vacation Time – Newly-hired salaried employees will be granted one week (5 days) of vacation three months after their first day as a salaried Tech Wizards employee. Employees promoted to a salaried position from an hourly position may qualify for additional paid vacation time (as a result of their prior position) based solely on the discretion of the owner. All salaried employees will earn two weeks (10 days) of paid vacation time for every full year of employment they complete as a salaried employee with Tech Wizards. After five years of employment three weeks (15 days) will be earned every year, and after ten years of employment four weeks (20 days) will be earned every year. Earned paid vacation time can only be taken during the year after it is earned. Paid vacation time for salaried employees can only be taken in half-days or full days, with no more than 7 work days (consecutive or non-consecutive) taken within a one month period (unless a specific exemption is granted by the owner). Any paid vacation time taken within three months of an employee’s resignation (for any reason) will be forfeited, with the amount of paid vacation time deducted from the employee’s subsequent earnings. Vacation time not taken during the year after it is earned will be lost. Tech Wizards will not pay for untaken paid vacation time under any circumstances (including termination of employment for any reason).
Paid Holidays – As of 01/01/2014 newly-hired salaried employees will qualify for paid company holidays after three months as a salaried Tech Wizards employee; employees promoted into a salaried position will immediately qualify for paid company holidays. Company holidays are announced each December for the following calendar year and may vary from year to year based solely on the owner’s discretion.
Hourly Employees
Paid Vacation Time – Hourly employees who have at least one year of continuous employment with Tech Wizards will be granted the hourly equivalent of one week of vacation on the first and second anniversaries of their hire date. Such employees will then earn the hourly equivalent of two weeks of paid vacation time on every anniversary date thereafter. Earned paid vacation time can only be taken during the calendar year after the date on which it is earned (vacation time cannot be carried over from one year to the next). Paid vacation time for hourly employees can only be taken in half-days or full days, with no more than the equivalent of 7 work days (consecutive or non-consecutive) taken within a one month period (unless a specific exemption is granted by the owner). Any paid vacation time taken within four months of an employee’s resignation (for any reason) will be forfeited, with the amount of paid vacation time deducted from the employee’s final paycheck(s). Vacation time not taken during the year it is earned will be lost. Tech Wizards will not pay for untaken paid vacation time under any circumstances (including termination of employment, for any reason).
Paid Holidays – Hourly employees who have at least six months of continuous employment with Tech Wizards qualify for paid company holidays which fall on workdays they normally work based on their standard weekly work schedule. Company holidays are announced no later than December for the following calendar year and may vary from year to year based solely on the owner’s discretion.
