Nepal WASH PCMA 2021
NRCS conducted a Pre-Crises Market Mapping and Analysis (PCMA) to assess the feasibility of a market-based WASH response in flood prone areas of province 2. The exercise sought to answer two critical questions related to the markets of soap, female sanitary pads, ORS, chlorine, handpump materials and mechanics and latrine slab and ring producers.
Does the market system have the capacity to meet the needs and services people need in sufficient quantities and at reasonable prices?
Which types of market-based responses are the most cost efficient/effective and feasible?
