EXPERIENCE OF CVA FOR WASH IN SOUTH ASIA (November 2022)
“When the conditions are right, receiving cash gives people more choice to direct their own recovery and priorities their needs.” The technical working group (TWG) of Cash and WASH is promoting the broader use of Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) and Market-Based Programming (MBP) in the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement for WASH outcomes.
As there are more and more practitioners in Red Cross Red Crescent network using CVA and MBP, but it is not always easy to find our place within different approaches, methods, and tools. We invited two practitioners from South Asia to share their experiences in a webinar on November 28th, 2022.

Cash and WASH Technical Working Group: At the service of National Societies (March 2022)
The year 2021 recorded great achievements of the Cash and WASH Technical Working Group as a result of efforts by all its members. The overall objective of this webinar is to raise interest on cash for WASH outcomes and increase the membership of this TWG to more National Societies worldwide. This webinar is :
• Presenting the achievements of the TWG in 2021
• Presenting the workstreams identified in the roadmap development of the TWG for 2022-2024
• Explaining the new internal organization of the TWG and how to join the TWG
This webinar is intended for WASH and/or Cash staff and volunteers from National Societies, IFRC and ICRC. Speakers include members of the TWG (both Cash & Markets and WASH practitioners from IFRC and National Societies). The webinar was repeated three times at different day and time and was delivered in English, but some sessions will have simultaneous translation in Arabic, Spanish and French.

What does "cash" mean for WASH Outcomes?
Cash for WASH is an area of growing interest and importance in the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. In 2020 a Technical Working Group (TWG) was established to progress considering the use of CVA for WASH. In this Webinar, we aim to introduce the topic of using Cash and Markets to give people choice and dignity in how they meet their WASH needs and how we can better support WASH Markets. We will also introduce this TWG and share with you opportunities to contribute to the TWG.
This webinar was done on 30 March 2021 and repeated on 31 March 2021 at a different time to allow more National Societies to join the event. The content is similar and you can jump to the questions and answers parts that are different. The webinar was done in French language on 21 April 2021 (link below).
