CUT AND BURN CAMPOUT

Our Scouts had a great time on our "CUT AND BURN" Scout Skills Campout June 27-28, 2026 at Prince William Forest Park, despite some rain as we packed up. They learned how to safely use axes, knives, saws and fire! We hiked to a lake, grilled burgers and peaches, and enjoyed the fireflies. This beautiful park is within an hour of Arlington but it feels like another world. The park has hiking trails, orienteering courses, and campgrounds.

GOALS:

Tenderfoot 3d:  Demonstrate proper care, sharpening, and use of the knife, saw, and ax. Describe when each should be used.
