The car #42 is based on a 1977 preproduction TR8 chassis.
In 1979 JRT Canada started converting the car for IMSA racing with some help of Group 44 who supplied some of the parts, like body panels, suspension, wheels and stuff.
The car raced the 6H of Mosport in '80-'83 and the 12H of Sebring in '85.
The car is currently running under the '85 IMSA rules with a 5L Rover V8 and is doing pretty well in historic racing with a podium here and there.
There are 3 original IMSA cars, two ran by Group 44 in USA and one ran by JRT Canada in the 8ties.
This car is the only one of the three built with an original TR8 coupe...
The Canadian car did a few test laps last weekend on the Airport. I would say, not bad for an old battle ship.
