The 129th Regular meeting of Tokyo Metropolitan Toastmasters Club

Our 129^th Meeting was held on August 22th at the Kojimachi Kumin-kan.

Following a Call to Order by TM YY, today’s TMOM EA opened the meeting.

TM RY set the Word of the Day: significant, or 大切 in Japanese, that was used more than 8 times by members and today’s guest throughout the meeting.

Before beginning “Good & New”, TM KM recommended to us using speech structure consisting of three parts:①Introduction,②body,③conclusion.

TM KO talked about SoftBank’s Nikesh Arora who has just dispelled the concern about his continuous commitment to the management by buying his company’s shares from his own pocket as News of this week.

The first prepared speaker was TM YH. Through her icebreaker speech, we learnt about her identity backed by her continuous great efforts in her life. The second prepared speaker was TM SN, whose speech encouraging running entertained us with his good sense of humor. The third speaker was TM YA whose speech was about her commitment to results. The last prepared speaker was TM MK who proposed us to find some masters or 師匠in various fields throughout TM activities.

During intermission, we treated ourselves to snacks brought in by KT.

The meeting was re-started with Table Topics chaired by TM KT, who gave us the table topics about Hometown etc. Todays’ guest also delivered a good speech.

The Evaluation Session was chaired by TM SY, followed by four evaluators: TM YK, TM TT, TM YI, TM KM. TM SY commented that today’s speech and table topics focusing on one’s personality contributed to our mutual understanding.

Awards were presented by TMOM to Today’s Best Speaker: TM. SN Best Evaluator: TM KM and Best Table Topic Speaker: TM S.

After that, an announcement was made about the special meeting in October.
