The 122nd Regular meeting of Tokyo Metropolitan Toastmasters Club

Another inspiring meeting was held at Kojimachi Kumin Kaikan.

Following a call to order by President TM Masashi Nakatomi, today’s TMOM M. Kobayashi opened the meeting. TM Tomobe set the Word of the Morning: to continue, or 継続 in Japanese, wishing for our endeavor to keep rolling.

After a short warming-up called “Good & New”, TM W. Yamaguchi concisely talked about Movie Festivals, which gave us an idea about recent prize awarded films at world-famous festivals. I personally took interest in “そして父になる”.

The first prepared speaker was TM Karashima, who is from Kumamoto prefecture and through her icebreaker speech, we learnt about her active personality, which prompted her to create for her own what she needs but hardly finds available around her: ideal neighbors. The second prepared speaker was TM Miyabayashi, who seems to have explored a new sphere of entertaining speech. The third speaker was TM Takahashi and he gave an instructive short lecture on Eastern Roman Empire, which he said helps comprehend the roots of today’s regional conflicts.

During intermission, we treated ourselves to somehow familiar taste Turkish sweets brought in by TM Mori. Thank you, TM Mori for the sweets!

The meeting was re-started with Table Topics chaired by TM Sekine, who gave the settings for the table speeches: Newly launching business plan.

The Evaluation Session was chaired by TM Minemura, followed by four evaluators: TM Marco, TM Watanabe, TM Nakatomi and TM Kayo. Their evaluation comments were full of good analysis, sense of humor, thoughtfulness and additional information relating to the speeches we had just heard.

Following TM Hoshikawa's general evaluation, awards were presented by TMOM M. Kobayashi. Today’s Best Speaker: TM. Takahashi Best Evaluator: TM Nakatomi Best Table Topic Speaker: TM T. Kobayashi Congratulations!

At the end of meeting, we had initiation ceremony for TM. Wei Si Jie and club officer’s election was held. Please refer to related official notice.
