Celebrating Diversity throughout our curriculum

While planning our curriculum, we thought hard to ensure our pupils would receive a balanced view of the world. We want our children to become active, global citizens, and a part of that means understanding differences between people, races, genders, religions, abilities and so on. We want to break down barriers, prejudices and pre-conceived ideas that people may have. We want our children to know that anyone, regardless of background, can achieve great things. This also links very closely with the British Values of 'mutual respect' and 'tolerance of those from different faiths and backgrounds'. Our curriculum, therefore, has a balanced view when considering famous authors, artists, scientists, historians and musicians.

However, our main aim and driver is that all children feel a sesne of belonging and pride about their own backgrounds and know that everyone, even though we are all unique, is welcome at Two Moors and the community we are a part of.
