While planning our curriculum, we thought hard to ensure our pupils would receive a balanced view of the world. We want our children to become active, global citizens, and a part of that means understanding differences between people, races, genders, religions, abilities and so on. We want to break down barriers, prejudices and pre-conceived ideas that people may have. We want our children to know that anyone, regardless of background, can achieve great things. This also links very closely with the British Values of 'mutual respect' and 'tolerance of those from different faiths and backgrounds'. Our curriculum, therefore, has a balanced view when considering famous authors, artists, scientists, historians and musicians.
However, our main aim and driver is that all children feel a sesne of belonging and pride about their own backgrounds and know that everyone, even though we are all unique, is welcome at Two Moors and the community we are a part of.
Click on the files below to see more information about this. These lists are not exhaustive but do act as a guide to the vairety of people we will learn about throughout the school.
Diversity links very closely with our values in fostering pride, respect, kindness and aspiration throughout our curriculum and our lives.

Toilet Twinning
As part of our work on diversity, culture fund raising for charities, school council decided we should work with the charity 'TearFund', specifically on their 'Toilet Twinning' project. With the money raised at one of our non-uniform days, the children chose three contrasting countries in which there are communities that don't have access to flushing toilets. TearFund 'twin' toilets with the school to fund building sustainable, clean and flushing toilets in the communities. The countries that school council chose to twin with are: the Rumphi District in Malawi, Africa; the Kubale District in Uganda, Africa; Makawanpur in Nepal, Asia. Keep an eye open for posters around our toilets showing the projects that our fund raising has helped to support!
The children will learn more about these communities in assemblies and work in their classrooms.
