Oplan Goodbye Bulate! is a Department of Health program that helps prevent malnutrition, with a harmonized schedule and combined mass drug administration (HSCMDA) for soil-transmitted helminthiasis (STH) and filariasis elimination program (Sabayang Gamutan Kontra Bulate).
During June and January, the barangay conducts a deworming program for ages 1-12 years old. We are grateful that we were able to participate in the program for children ages 12-42 months during our house-to-house survey. Ages 5-12 years old were dewormed at Tinongtongan Elementary School located by the Barangay Health Workers of the barangay.

The community health management course is a structured process that starts with community integration, is followed by community assessment, problem identification, problem prioritization, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and ends with disengagement.
During this first exposure, we gathered secondary data from the Rural Health Unit(RHU) of Diplahan, Police Station and Barangay Health Office, we also conducted our initial survey with blood pressure monitoring to assess the demographic, social, cultural, environmental, and health status of the community to identify the health needs, concerns, and threats in the community. We were able to survey 236 households.
Our team's parting gesture: a hands-on health teaching session on the significance of handwashing. Led by the medical students, they demonstrated the art of effective handwashing and the risk of being exposed to soild transmitted helminths.
Clean hands, bright smiles, and lasting impact. Empowering young minds for a healthier future!
