Concept development
The ideation sketch was created to visualize the concept, adding details about its appearance, size, and shape. And the storyboard to visualize the steps of how the concept works.

Steps of how the concept works
Divide tasks into hours, each part of the bamboo represents one hour. For example, if a task takes three hours, three bamboo parts are stacked. This stacking method is used for all tasks, ensuring each has the required time allocation. This is the idea of stacking the bamboo depending on the time it takes for it to be done.
2. Pour sand into the middle of the flower to activate the timer. Unlike the original design of the mechanism with a pole and door, the sand is poured directly into the flower's center. This mechanism design was shown in the ideation process. The sand flows into a funnel within the flower, which has a lid at the bottom to prevent sand from passing through.
3. Remove the lid from the funnel when it's filled with sand. As time passes, the sand gradually falls into the basket below, fully opening the flower.
4. A light indicator appears to signal when one hour has passed.
5. After one hour, remove the bamboo from the stack and store it away. This indicates the completion of one hour, leaving remaining bamboo for subsequent tasks.
6. The sand collected in the basket can be poured back into the flower to restart the process. The basket's shape allows for easy sand collection and pouring, serving a dual purpose.
