According to research, increasing the inclusive capacity of advisors is another critical component for the transformation of STEM environments. Advising Communities are a place for academic advisors to learn and discuss equity issues with experienced facilitators.

Our discussions focus on inclusiveness in the advising process, supporting and understanding new majority students, and relationships. We aim for advisors to gain awareness of their personal biases as well as biases built into the university structure.
