For Faculty

THRIVE Faculty Learning Communities strive “to take our teaching to the next level” (PI Siegel) by providing a space in which faculty, in collaboration with their peers, can learn ways to make their teaching more inclusive, engaging, and effective for students.

We have worked with 7 cohorts of faculty in 3-semester long FLCs. Facilitators include experienced science instructors at Mizzou as well as equity and education experts.

We have made it through multiple global crises, supporting members to roll out their plans for inclusion and anti-racism with early success. With the switch to remote teaching, the FLC community found the support of fellow faculty extra meaningful.

Our 7th FLC is finishing up during the Fall 2023 semester.

Personalized Faculty Coaching Sessions available now:

One-on-one faculty coaching sessions allow MU FLC faculty members to refine research endeavors within a low-key, supportive environment alongside a Thrive coach.  Our coaches brainstorm research themes and consider the most appropriate methods to use, then advise faculty as they pursue research goals. Thrive coaches also remain adept at navigating the research process and scholarly writing. We support FLC faculty in writing, editing and pursuing publication, designing poster presentations and conference presentations, as well as preparing faculty to present for national and international audiences.
