A new ESL site can be established with only a Site Director and Lead Teacher. In such a scenario, one or both volunteers may wear more than one hat, e.g., with one person serving as Site Director and Intake Coordinator and another as Lead Teacher and Server. But as more volunteers are available to fill out other roles, the site becomes more robust and more students are enabled to take part. Following are descriptions of the responsibilities of all of the different roles that make up an ESL site.
Communicate general needs of the site with Refuge International’s Executive Director
Communicate curriculum advisement needs with Refuge International’s English & Women’s Ministries Coordinator as needed
Submit upcoming year’s curriculum order to English & Women’s Ministries Coordinator in October for submission to Refuge Executive Director
Coordinate and assign teachers, assistant teachers, hospitality workers, and other volunteers
Liaise between Refuge International and site personnel (church leadership, etc.)
*The Site Director is the most important volunteer to have in place at the beginning of this process.
