Newbie - All Class Grinding
Hi Everyone!
Kinda been lazy for updates, anyway this section is built on the primary focus of leveling, and will encompass the general grinding beginners grinding and a few tips.
In this guide we will discuss the grinding locations and and what skill or method is generally used.
I. In general grinding to get levels is the most common way to further your cause, it would basically determine how you are grinding, in it there are a few classifications.
a. Grinding for Zenny
b. Grinding for levels
c. Grinding for materials
Now more often than not locations for grinding create a trade off between the purposes above.
You may get more zenny and levels but no materials, or levels and materials and no zenny (this doesn't happen, all grinds give out some zenny its just the amount that varies.)
As a general rule, you would need to follow the rule of 10s, this means that grinding to get the maximum output job and base xp, zenny and loot drop you will always need to be within 10 levels of your target.
Of course there are exemptions to the rule, such as multiple target grinding, in which case you may want to stay within 20 level gap above of your target. (i.e. your target is 17, this can support you until 37).
So lets kick things off with the leveling strategies that are commonly used, starting with locations.
All classes would follow a general grinding location:
I. All Classes 1-40
The way they grind differs from each class basically all melee classes will go through an agi phase in their lives for example:
The following classes will be on 2:1 str:agi ratio: Swordsman, Merchant, Thief, Acolyte
For archers they will be on full dex and do double strafe grinding
For Mages they will be doing max int and either auto attacking in the beginning or they will be using low level bolts (fire bolt etc, with about 30 dex total)
The grinding changes for each class as they begin to specialize into their respective 1st jobs.
Lets make this a bit easier to digest so we have time to talk about the gear involved and the grind method.
The list below is a general leveling location for each kind of class that follows this path:
Now for grinding I've segmented the classes into their types of grind. (do note that the specialized builds are not included for this section, and in no way is this claiming that this is the only place to grind).
A. All Agi Melee auto attack types
These are classes that are generally relying on melee auto attack heavily: (they are either crit or double attack)
1. Agi Knights / Lord Knights / Rune Knight / Crusaders / Paladins / Royal Guards
2. Combo Monks / Champs / Shuras
3. Bonk Priests / High Priest / Archbishops
4. Agi Blacksmiths / Whitesmiths
5. Assassins
6. Dagger type Rogues / Stalkers / Chasers
(makes you wonder cause a minstrel bonks too with their guitar... kinda bad ass rock stars)
B. All Agi Range Auto Attack Types
These are classes that are generally relying on bow auto attack heavily: (they are either crit or double attack)
1. Bow Rogues / Stalkers / Chasers
2. Hunter / Sniper / Ranger / Bard / Clown / Minstrel / Dancer / Gypsy / Wanderer
C. Double Strafers
These are limited to the classes who has double strafe in their skill list, the grind is a bit limited and at some point you may want to switch out.
1. Bow Rogues / Stalkers / Chasers
2. Hunter / Sniper / Ranger / Bard / Clown / Minstrel / Dancer / Gypsy / Wanderer
D. Melee AOE Types
These are classes that produce melee aoe damage.
1. Hammerfall Blacksmith / Whitesmith / Mechanic
2. Cart Revolution Blacksmith / Whitesmith / Mechanic
3. Grimtooth Assassin / Assassin Cross / Guillotine Cross
4. Magic Trap Shadow Chasers
5. Poison Fog Guillotine Cross
6. Grand Cross Paladins / Royal Guards
7. Breath Type Rune Knights
9. Bowling Bash Knight / Lord Knight / Rune Knight
10. Arm Cannon Mechanics
11. Fire Expansion Genetics
E. Magic AOE Types
These are classes that generally use magic with aoe damage.
1. Heaven's Drive Wizard / High Wizard / Warlock
2. Meteor Storm Wizard / High Wizard / Warlock
3. Magnus Excorcisimus Priest / High Priest / Archbishop
F. Single Target Magic Types
Classes that use single target magic for grinding.
1. Judex Priest / High Priest / Archbishop
2. Bolt Wizard / High Wizard / Warlock / Sage / Professor / Sorcerer
G. Single Target Melee Types
1. Bash Knight / Lord Knight / Rune Knight / Crusaders / Paladins / Royal Guards
2. Soul Breaker Assassin Cross / Guillotine Cross
3. Cart Attack Blacksmith / Whitesmith / Mechanic
H. Instrument Attack Types
This is basically limited to Bard and Dancer. Though their grind changes as they progress further.
I. Sphere Marine Type
This is limited to Alchemists and their succeeding classes, grind changes depending on their targets.
J. Range AOE Types
I forgot to add this but basically they can follow the same paths as Magic AOE and Melee AOE Types.
1. Arrow Shower Hunter / Sniper / Ranger / Bard / Clown / Minstrel / Dancer / Gypsy / Wanderer
2. Severe Rain Storm Wanderer / Minstrel
3. Hunting Assault Hunter / Sniper / Ranger
4. Dissonance / Ugly Dance Bard & Dancer
J. Range Single Attack Types
I also forgot this one hahahaha my bad, but it can follow the same path as single target melee users.
1. Falcon Assault Hunter / Sniper / Ranger
2. Warg Strike Ranger
3. Arrow Vulcan Bard & Dancer
4. Triangle Shot Stalker / Shadow Chasers
II. General Gear
This section is basically focused on gear that you would mostly use for grinding, nothing else, some of the items can be used to progress further into the specific jobs, but in general this is what we use.
A. PATK Classes
1. Armor - Tights (Tier 3)
2. Off Hand - Rosa Bracelet / Gold Bracelet (crit) / Niles Bracelet (Range Classes) / Mirror Shield (paladin)
3. Garment - Ancient Cape / Staunch Cape / Muffler of Blue Eves
4. Shoes - Sack Teddy Shoes / Rune Shoes / Staunch Shoes
5. Accessories - Str Rings / Vit Necklace (for melee), Dex Gloves (for range), Fairy in bottle (for crit), Luna Brooches and Matyr for general purposes.
B. PATK Weapons
1. Axe - Doom Axe / Vecer Axe (or their base forms)
2. Bow - Malang Snow Crab / Mystic Bow (or their base forms)
3. Daggers - Holy Dagger / Sandstorm (or their base forms)
4. Mace - Slash
5. Fist - Giant Gloves
6. Katar - Loki / Agent Katar / Blood Tears (or their base forms)
C. PATK Headgears
1. Head - Cat Ear Beret (or some gacha you got)
2. Mid Gear - Nut on head / Masquerade / (or some gacha you got)
3. Mouth - Spiked Scarf, Blow Pipe, Pipe (or some gacha you have)
4. Back Gear - Devil Wings (or some gacha you may have)
5. Tail - Fox Tail / Beast Tail (or Gacha)
D. MATK Gears
1. Armor - robe of cast(tier 4) if priest Mage Coat (Tier 3)
2. Off Hand - Orleans Server(-vct pair with orleans glove) / sacrifice book
3. Garment - Staunch Cape (-vct pair with staunch shoes)
4. Shoes - Staunch Shoes (-vct pair with staunch cape) / crystal pumps / mana storm boots
5. Accessories - orlean glove, eye of dullahan, orlean necklace
E. MATK Weapons
1. Lich Staff - high -vct reduction but low damage, good for early MS build
2. Staff of Elemental - high AOE damage, but need lot of -vct reduction
3. Wizardry Staff - high ignore mdef staff
4. Mana Storm Staff - cheap staff for CL
5. Croce Staff / Nemesis Staff - Priest Judex or ME
F. MATK Headgears
1. Head - Parcel Hat, Coif (or some gacha you got)
2. Mid Gear - monocle / elven ears / (or some gacha you got)
3. Mouth - angry snarl (or some gacha you have)
4. Back Gear - Devil Wings (or some gacha you may have)
5. Tail - Puriku / Beast Tail (or Gacha)
III. General Cards
Cards are basically what we use to enhance or further our damage to our targets, for this section we will only cover general cards used for the weapons, as the rest of the cards are used to specialize in targets.
A. PATK Type Cards - PATK considers all card types Against Elements, Race, and size. (exemption on some skills)
1. Elemental Cards
Drainliar Card (Water), Mandragora Card (Wind), Vadon (Fire), Menblatt (Earth), Orc Skeleton (Holy)
2. Size Cards - Dessert Wolf (Small), Minorous (Large), Skeleton Miner Card (Medium)
B. Racial Cards - These cards are generally used for both MATK and PATK users.
1. Peco Egg Card - Formless
2. Green Petite - Dragon
3. Orc Ladies - Insect
4. Hydra - Demi Human
5. Flora - Fish
6. Goblin - Brute
7. Abyssmal Knight - Boss & Mini Boss
IV. Tips and Stuff
Now that we reached this portion, let me give you some tips for grinding.
1. Daily, you have 2 10x exp that you take from the npc in town, use these while you have stamina.
2. For an effective grinding, make sure that you time your kill counts, this helps maximize both zenny, material and xp gain.
3. There are 2x exp potions available from the steward, you may want to use these if you are rushing.
4. Monster laboratory is a good place to gain good exp and job exp. Do this 3x and go for your normal grind.
5. Reserve quests and tasks after you've reached maybe 400 stamina (or 200 in the new system).
6. Stay within your level gap, this is the most effective way to get maximum gains.
7. Do your quests, please, you can rush through it without understanding anything (like i did, twice, in both servers cn and sea) but you get some zenny and xp.
8. Join a guild and be active and participate with them, and do your daily donations for gold medals and contributions.
Welp... Basically thats it! I made this section in order to skip all the stuff about grinding for all the class sections.
