Flight dynamics have been modified based on official Boeing technical specifications and hours of testing. Many updates and improvements. Original aircraft made by Project Opensky. Please see the Readme file.
Boeing 777-300ER Modification
This is a freeware Boeing 777-300ER that I obtained from Simviation. The original model was developed by Project Opensky. Original VC by Jacob Kubique. Converted to FSX native by Zachary777. VC updates by Speedbird77 with gauges by G. Munro and Ken Wiggington.
Aircraft engine sounds are not included. There are good freeware GE90-115 sounds on AVSIM.
The GPWS and Groundhandling gauges were made by Rob Barendregt. The Jelair Vspeeds gauge was made by Jacob Larsen.
***Normal takeoff flaps is 15 degs.***
I have made the following modifications:
1. Removed the built-in landing lights from the model and added new landing and taxi lights in the cfg file using stock effects. I did not remove the built-in navigation, beacon, and strobe lights as they work quite well.
2. Modified the empty and max weight as well as the passenger and cargo loads. The loads are set up for app. 350 passengers plus luggage and other cargo.
3. Changed the moments of inertia for more realistic feel and handling.
4. Adjusted the reference datum position, engine positions, fuel tank positions, and contact points.
5. Corrected airplane geometry values.
6. Set engine thrust to correct value for the GE90-115B(had to derate this by 25% as the effect in the sim is far too powerful), changed min throttle limit for more realistic reverser thrust, and adjusted engine fuel flow for accurate fuel consumption.
7. Modified the fuel tank values to reflect the fuel quantity for the 777-300ER. Enabled electric fuel pumps which can be turned on/off on the overhead panel.
8. Updated flap and slat values to reflect 777-300ER actual settings and adjusted scalars for realistic performance.
9. Adjusted some flight tuning scalar values for more realistic handling.
10. Enabled electric hydraulic pump.
11. Enabled the gear warning system and adjusted settings.
12. Removed the wing folding, tailhook, and smokesystem sections. Added the contrail effect to the effects section.
13. Added some VC views and adjusted some view positions and zoom levels.
14. Added the GPWS, Groundhandling, and Jelair Vspeed gauges to the panel.
15. Removed a defective night light texture from the model.
16. Adjusted the EGT max temp and scalar in the AIR file to display the GE90-115B engine EGT more accurately.
17. Adjusted the Total Drag and landing gear drag in the AIR file for more realistic climb and cruise behavior.
18. Corrected exits section in the cfg file.
19. Modified the EICAS gauge code to redline the EGT at the correct temperature and to redline engine N1 and N2 at the correct RPM.
20. Modified the panel to re-order the gauge windows and to replace the backup ADF/VOR gauge with a flap indicator gauge in the VC.
The modifications were made based on official aircraft specifications contained in Boeing documents. The aircraft was tested using P3Dv6, but should work fine in P3Dv4-6 and possibly even earlier versions and FSX.
