Contrary to the popular belief, only subjects with laboratory classes will attend their residential schedules inside the campus; primarily, courses that require to utilize the COC venues such as TV Laboratory, Radio Laboratory, and the like. The students shall be clustered into different groups to maintain the required number of learners and keenly observe health protocols implemented by the academe.
Students with no laboratory classes will be requested by the professors to report in school premises only for βconsultationsβ - once a month, where they can meet to raise concerns, clarifications, or submissions. Still, the realization of the schedule depends on their subject teacher.
In a meeting with Dr. Ian Espada, Dean of the COC, together with Prof. Riza Charity Rafols, Secretary of the COC, and the College of Communication Student Council (COC SC) - catered concerns regarding the confusion among the students with the released class schedule.
βRemote Schedule is intended for lecture classes done online, and Residential Schedule intended for laboratory activities or consultationβ, clarified by Prof. Rafols.
As of August 10, the College of Communication had announced that the 1st Semester for this A.Y. 2022 - 2023 will be done online using Brightspace LMS.
βThere is also a potential for the students to take their in-person examinations if required by their teachersβ, says Dr. Espada. βThe teachers shall announce and coordinate with [their] students on this matterβ.
COC SC and other student-organizations expressed various concerns; among these pertains to the wearing of uniforms. As per advised, the college encourages every taga-COC to wear their prescribed uniform inside the school premises - yet, those who donβt have yet can avail through the help of the COC SC.
