The College of Communication conducted a face-to-face Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting yesterday - August 20, 2022 to talk about the plans of the department for the Academic Year 2022-2023.
COC faculty and staff, parents and guardians, and students participated in the assembly.
Dr. Ian Espada, Dean of COC, highlighted in his message the transitioning of remote learning to blended learning, a method of teaching that integrates technology and digital media with traditional classroom teaching, after two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The financial report and implementation of the PTA fee and penalty to provide information and transparency of the records were also discussed by the PTA officers, headed by Mr. Judy Catalan, PTA President.
A representative of Manulife Insurance, a company that will provide insurance services to the students, presented their offers that only include insurance for basic life, accidents and death, and dismemberment.
Mr. Dave Quimpo, Vice President of PTA, also talked about the media tour which is compulsory for the fourth year Broadcasting students as part of their internship but students from other curriculum, Journalism and Development Communication, can also join.
Also present in the event is the representative of the HRInternational, Inc., who discussed their International Educational and Cultural Programs for university and college students and recent graduates to come to the United States and gain exposure to the U.S. culture and receive hands-on experience in U.S. business practices with their chosen occupational field.
