The Kakpura temple is built in the centre of an oblong courtyard, which is below the present ground level. The temple remains of Kakpura, now lying in a ruinous condition, are smaller in dimension as compared to the temples of Avantipura.
The main shrine consists of a pancharatha sanctum and portico on the plan above the common jagati and preserves only its basal mouldings. A flight of steps on the east provides an access to the temple. The courtyard of the temple is enclosed by a peristyle, the upper platform of which is also damaged. It has a double-chambered gateway in the middle of the eastern side, the roof of which is now missing1.
