Aastan Akhun Saheb is believed to be built during Emperor Jahangir’s reign, enshrining the graves of a saint and his followers. Every year 13th Zilhaj is observed as the Saint’s urs.
The shrine, a single-storied building, is located within the very dense settlement of Shah Kadal, with Kut Kul on the south and Sunar Kul on the other. The building is covered with the traditional pyramidal tiered roof common to all the local aastans, in this case, it is double-tiered, surmounted by a copper finial. The Aastan is adorned with decorative wooden brackets at the roof level and pointed-arched openings1 .
