Work begins this Monday, June 11th (UPDATE it appears to now be the 18th June), and will continue to the year end to create Navan's first dedicated bridge for pedestrians and cyclists over the River Boyne.

Access to the centre of Navan via this bridge from the Kentstown Road is set to significantly improve the safety of students attending St. Michael’s Loreto Secondary School.

Works will include new pedestrian crossings over the Dublin to Kells Road at the very busy road junction. A new shared cycle and pedestrian path will lead to a new raised table crossing nearer the school.

Johnstown experienced similar traffic over the Easter School Holidays and we think the years of future benefit will be worth the short term hassle.
