Enrolments are now open for Term 4!
Students enrolled in a specific dance genre at The Creative are encouraged not to attend the same dance genre at another dance school simultaneously. Students can attend one genre at The Creative and another genre at another school.
For example: a student can enrol in Ballet at The Creative and Jazz at another school. However, attending Ballet classes at both The Creative and another school simulatenously is not encouraged.
If another dance school offers a genre that is not provided by The Creative, students are encouraged to attend that external genre. We hope to offer these classes in the future but do not want our students missing out on opportunities in the meantime.
While we value inclusivity, this stance aims to prevent conlicting information and maintain consistency in our teaching methods, while allowing flexibility for students to explore additional dance forms outside our current offerings.
We have confidence in the expertise of our teachers, and this approach is designed to enhance the overall learning experiencing for our students.
To maintain a focus learning environment, we have implemented a policy of restricting parental observation during classes. This approach helps minimise distractions for both students and teachers, promotes independence among students, fosters strong teacher-student bonds, and enhances students confidence. We have established class messenger groups. Through these groups, parents will have access to upload videos for reference and support, ensuring they remain engaged and informed about their child’s purpose.
A strong drive and motivation to improve, excel, and succeed in competitive dance are essential traits for students wanting to enter dance competitions. This includes a dedicated practice routine, consistent effort, and a passion for dance. Having a strong work ethic, discipline, and a positive attitude towards challenges and setbacks helps dancers persevere, learn from experiences, and continuously improve their skills.
It is strongly recommended that students who are interested in pursuing competition work in a particular genre attend both regular classes and private lessons in that genre to ensure they maintain a well-rounded skill set and a competitive edge in their areas of focus. By combining these two types of instruction, students can benefit from the group dynamics and learning environment of classes while also receiving personalized attention and targeted coaching during private lessons. This dual approach not only helps students develop technically but also enhances their performance quality, artistry, and confidence on stage. It provides them with the necessary tools and guidance to excel in competitions and showcase their talents effectively. Students need to maintain consistent practice in a chosen genre to ensure they have the necessary skills and abilities to perform competitively in this genre.
Private lessons are generally 30min-1 hour but can vary depending on what is being taught or wanting to work on. It is important that 'The Creatives' are continuously improving so there will be a set private each week of the school term or one lesson a week. This time is set at the start of the year (or when you join) and continues right through to November/December.
As we have a busy schedule, private lessons are only for The Creative competition students.

We expect suitable dance clothing and dance shoes or barefeet in the studio. No normal shoes are to be worn in the studio.
Water from drink bottles can be brought into the studio.
When creating a dance for my 'Creatives' everything is customized: music, choreography, costumes, hair, and makeup. The dance is made for them.
'Creatives' will get to choose between a couple of pieces of music when starting a new dance then the final music cuts are made. If the 'Creative' has music they prefer that is also taken into account.
Bella will sketch a design for the costumes with the expectation that the parent/caregiver will find a dress maker or make the costume. Where the costume is able to be bought that is also an option. We are currently setting up a custome hire so this will soon be an option. Bella augments costumes with rhinestones for an additional cost if required.
Hair and makeup is something that Bella tries to do for all of 'The Creatives' at competitions so when there is time she can help out.
