Interviewing My Parents

25 years ago, on the first day of spring, my parents were wedded as one as the morning rain faded away to reveal clear, warm skies. I have long wanted to know about their story throughout the years, considering I was born nearly a decade after that beautiful day in 1999. So, in light of this newsletter's publishing on the exact date of my parent's anniversary, I decided to sit them down and interview them (please, no harassment was done) on their 25 years of wonderful, happy marriage.

Are you afraid of being led astray? With all the lies of the world, sometimes it is hard to not worry about falling for one. The devil’s lies tell us what we want to hear. And the devil doesn’t care what lie you fall for as long as it does not involve the real God. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 says, “For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear.” Pretty scary, right? That is why God tells us to be anchored in our faith. I know that is easier said than done, but that is why we have the Bible to help us. The Bible is God’s word, and in Hebrews 6:18 it says, “…in which it is impossible for God to LIE, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.” So that means God can’t lie to me, you, or anybody. In John 14:6 it states, “I am the way, the TRUTH, and life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.” God can not lie to us; that means He is the truth. And He gave us the Bible; that is His words written for you. So, whenever you feel like the lies of the world might be too much, open your Bible. Let it tell you what the truth is.
