Often mistaken as a cheaper sequel to Sonnenfeld’s two movies, Addams Family Reunion was actually a feature-length sitcom pilot. However, things didn’t turn out very well, so after a creative rethink Reunion was repackaged as a direct-t0-video movie. Carel Struycken did return as towering manservant Lurch (perhaps aiding the belief this was a sequel), but the rest of the Addams Family were replaced by Tim Curry (Gomez), Daryl Hannah (Morticia), Nicole Fugere (Wednesday), Jerry Messing (Pugsley), Patrick Thomas (Fester), and Alice Ghostley (Grandmama).
