1973 ABC Pilot

ABC made a pilot for a variety show version of the TV show in 1973, which recast every role. Jack Riley and Liz Torres (who also wrote the special) played Gomez and Morticia, and were joined by Stubby Kaye (Fester), Pat McCormick (Lurch), and Butch Patrick (Pugsley) — whose casting was ironic, seeing as he played little Eddie Munster in The Munsters, a rival show that aired alongside the original Addams Family to higher ratings. The pilot was aired as a special but didn’t go to series.
