About Photography
In this section, you will find some easy lessons on photo journalism. This is by no means advanced photography. These lessons aim to help students take better pictures with the devices they have access to. In most cases, that is their cellphone.

I also share pictures I have taken to help illustrate the lesson. They like seeing pictures of my kids and cats.
After I teach my students about the different angles they should think about when taking pictures, I send them out in teams on a photo scavenger hunt. It's a great way to get them up and moving and practicing taking interesting pictures. This is by no means an in-depth photography lesson, but it helps them take more engaging pictures.
Don't forget to remind them about SPJ Code of Ethics. They should not do harm when taking pictures. They should respect people's privacy and ask permission.
Here is the sheet of paper I give each team. It also doubles as their pass. When they get back, I project the pictures. And then we vote on our favorites.
