A short but wide rift ending in a Stal choke. Used as a toilet by both pigeons and climbers.
Cave length: 8 m
Entrance: SY 67989 71255 (50.54019, -2.45309)
From the cliff top coast path a few metres north of where the route from the Westcliff climbers car park joins, descend into Sharbutts quarry which is easily recognisable by the huge quarry block wall on the seaward side. At the bottom of the 2m climb down into the quarry follow the right hand wall towards the sea into an obvious corner to find the cave entrance.
Climb up the left hand side to enter the cave. The rift initially descends to a low point (beware of bottles and bum rubbish) before rising to a short crawl into a final chamber ending in a flowstone choke which would have contained some nice formation before they were stolen.
Trip time - 5 min.
