Based on the interdisciplinary nature of the Auer Lab, former co-workers, post-doctoral fellows, PhD students, MSc students and Honors students usually find jobs comparatively quickly. This is often based on the many techniques and technologies they are trained during their time in CTB. They have excellent chances for careers in diverse positions in academia, industry, biotech, patents, and consulting. Current positions of former lab members include full professors, associate professors, principal investigators, group leaders (academia), lab heads, senior scientists, director, head of chemistry, senior investigator, group leaders, chief scientific officer (CSO) ( all in industry), business development executive, venture capital executive (finances and consulting), and a European patent lawyer (patents).
