Established in 2003, the Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force (MGPTF) was created in response to a significant increase in violent crimes in Santa Rosa. The residents of Santa Rosa made a 20-year commitment to support violence prevention efforts with the approval of MEASURE O (2004), a quarter-cent Transaction and Use Tax.
Re-branded in 2015, the Santa Rosa Violence Prevention is a collaborative effort focused on creating a safe & healthy community by funding non-profit organizations and schools through the CHOICE Grant Program, strategic alignment of integrated opportunities for youth and families, and collaborating on community and civic engagement events.
